Top 5 questions re: reusable shipping packaging at Fachpack

Fachpack, Germany's most important trade fair for packaging, took place in Nuremberg from 24 to 26 September. Start-up hey circle was well represented at the spacious Brangs+Heinrich stand. This attracted many interested parties who came to the stand for advice on reusable shipping packaging.

These are the 5 most frequently asked questions about reusable packaging from Fachpack visitors:

How can tampering with the reusable package be prevented?

The hey circle bags and boxes are equipped with zippers for easy opening and closing. When closed, the zipper puller and a small eyelet can be secured with a tamper-evident seal. If someone tries to open the zipper, the seal will break, providing clear evidence of tampering.

How is return ensured? How do you prevent consumers from keeping the packaging as storage boxes at home?

Consumers do not need to leave a deposit for using the reusable bags and boxes. However, by selecting the reusable option at checkout, they agree to return the packaging within a specified period. During this time, hey circle sends reminder emails to ensure the return. If the packaging is not returned, it will be fully charged. The conscious choice of sustainable shipping combined with the potential cost is a strong psychological incentive, resulting in a return rate of 98%.

Is reusable packaging really more sustainable if it needs to be returned each time?

Do reusable shipping boxes have insulation?

How much weight can the largest foldable reusable shipping box hold?

Drei News: Fokus auf praktische und kostengünstige Use Cases

  1. Launch of the new hey circle XXL box at Fachpack

The new hey circle XXL box made its debut at the Fachpack trade show! Although the prototype was meant to stay in the background, it quickly became the focal point of professional discussions. Customers had requested a larger and stronger box, and hey circle delivered: the XXL box is twice as tall as the previous XL box, offering even more volume and durability.

  1. Design updates to improve durability and handling

Important design updates are on the horizon: Not only will the color and printing of the hey circle boxes change, but the bottom will also be reinforced to ensure more stability. Additionally, the zipper will be replaced to improve longevity and handling in logistics. Visitors at the Fachpack booth could already take a look at a prototype of the upgraded box, which is currently in production.

3. Smart IT solution for selection orders in the fashion industry

In the fashion sector, it's common for customers to order multiple sizes and models to try on at home, keeping only one item. hey circle has developed an IT solution that identifies such selection orders and actively suggests reusable packaging for these shipments. Online retailers benefit as they incur no extra return costs for empty packaging since the reusable box will be returned anyway.

These topics were also featured in panel "Mittagstalk", at Fachpack TV, and press interviews, attracting significant interest.
